The Filtones choir recently got in touch with some fabulous news. They are singing our praises as “charity of the year”!
The Filtones describe themselves as a non-auditioned group of mainly retired people, who meet on Wednesday afternoons at St Teresa’s Community Centre – mostly for the sheer joy of group singing!
The choir showcases their work throughout the year, at community venues and churches. They sing four-part harmony, led by musical director Dr Fabian Huss. From Shakespeare sonnets to The Beatles, their programme is diverse!
As a thank you for our hard work in their local community, the group will donate their time and songs to help raise funds for FACE. On Friday 7th July at 7.30pm, we look forward to a fundraiser concert for us, which will be open to the public at St. Teresa’s Church (further details tbc).
The Filtones warmly welcomes anyone who is curious about joining the choir, inviting drop-ins on a Wednesday for a listen and a chat. You are even able to try the choir out for four weeks, free of charge!
