Volunteers’ Week

Volunteers’ Week is a chance to recognise and celebrate the incredible people who give their time, energy, and enthusiasm to support their communities.

At FACE, our volunteers are at the heart of so much of what we do. Whether they’re helping at youth clubs, supporting activities, or simply bringing positivity and encouragement to those around them, their contribution makes a real difference every day.

Volunteering is often described as giving something back, but it’s also about connection. It’s about meeting new people, learning new skills, and being part of something bigger than yourself. Across FACE, we’ve seen volunteers develop friendships, enhance strengths, and become valued members of our community.

This Volunteers’ Week, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you to every person who has volunteered with us, whether for a few hours, a few months, or many years. Your support helps us create welcoming spaces where young people can thrive, build confidence, and feel a true sense of belonging.

Meet two of our volunteers, Rebecca and Alex, who come along every week to help us with Rise and Shine clubs. Rebecca has been volunteering for the last 3 years and Alex for the last 5 months. They really are part of our team and we really do appreciate all the help they give. Rebecca said she really looks forward to coming to FACE each week and Alex said it’s really fun and he loves being able to still be a part of somewhere he used to really enjoy.

These reflections capture something we see time and time again: volunteering isn’t just about the impact you have on others, it can be a rewarding and meaningful experience to volunteer too.

The kindness, dedication, and generosity shown by our volunteers helps make FACE the organisation it is today. We simply couldn’t do what we do without you.

To all of our volunteers, past and present, thank you for your time, your commitment, and your belief in the young people and communities that we support.

Happy Volunteers’ Week from everyone at FACE!
