We run an inclusive Duke of Edinburgh’s awards for young people aged 14-2yrs! The group is currently meeting fortnightly on a Monday evening in Patchway.

DofE is great for young people to make new friends, learn new skills and develop independence skills and confidence. It’s also great for CVs and to prove to employers that you have the determination and motivation to put in extra effort and see something through to the end!

Our group is targeted at those young people who may not usually get the opportunity to complete their awards at other settings (e.g. neurodiversity or disability, low-income, additional needs, home-educated)

The award is made up of 4 parts: Volunteering, Skills, Physical & Expedition, and young people aged 14-23 can enter the award at bronze, silver or gold. We deliver all sections of the bronze, silver and gold awards from our centre when there are enough people interested to make a group (6+ people needed).

There is a small enrolment fee to pay to join the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and get set up on the e-dofe system and a fee to pay to us for delivering the whole of the expedition section (currently £50, this includes booking campsites, transport, and hire of tents/trangias, maps, etc). We can work with you to help groups raise funds as part of their ‘Volunteering’ section towards the cost of the expedition if this is a barrier.

We can provide you with all the support and guidance to make sure you succeed!

We always welcome new members from around the local area to join our DofE awards groups! Come and see us or get in touch to find out more!

Please contact us if you’d like to express interest in joining a DofE group at FACE!
