We have a great building space in the St Andrews Methodist Youth Centre, which is hired from the church next door and we utilise for much of our community work.
We also hire out the building to other community groups when we are not using it, to help raise funds to pay the bills and which can support the charity’s work. There are booking conditions and these can be requested and arranged through the office. We do accommodate children’s birthday parties for our members or those known to us on weekend afternoons however we very rarely accommodate evening parties due to our proximity to our neighbours and not wanting to encourage large noisy gatherings in the evenings!
Our main hall area can be used for larger meeting or events as well as games and parties. We have 2 pool tables and table tennis table, as well as volleyball & badminton net and we use the space for lots of activities including roller skating too!
Our diner area can be moved around as needed for arts/crafts, quizzes, food preparation, events, meetings, etc and opens on to the steps to the hall
We have a small but functional and equipped kitchen space (We now have a new induction hob since the photo below was taken!).
The other end of the kitchen is our tuck shop area and fridge/freezer with hatches to the foyer/diner.
We have a training room, which can be used for smaller meetings and activities - including accessing big screen TV (cannot access TV, but can be used for DVDs or laptop presentations via HDMI), DVD player, karaoke, PlayStation, Wii, etc. The room can hold around 12 people sat at tables, or more sat in rows. This room was kindly redecorated for us by an NCS team in October 2017.
We have an IT suite ‘The Surf Shack’ with 8 PCs and interactive whiteboard.
